Member: Xavier Thorens
Location: Switzerland

Xavier Thorens, an Horyou member from the UNDL foundation, puts forward this interesting action involving language accessibility. The UNDIL’s goal is to grant everyone access to the universal knowledge that is available on and via the Internet. It is a crowdfunding project that can be found on Indiegogo. The idea is to create the first Baatonum free dictionary. Baatonum is the language of the eponymous population in Northern Benin. The platform that will be used is Muhit, a free online harmonized dictionary that will include around 50 000 words of the language. The funds collected from the Indiegogo platform will serve to find and gather a team of local language experts, train and remunerate the linguistic team, and integrate the words into Muhit.
