Barenaked

On Jan. 22, deep in Geneva’s countryside, a few members of the Horyou Geneva team attended a photo exhibition by artist Mauren Brodbeck. The exhibition was titled “Barenaked.”

Brodbeck presents an array of colorful experimental artwork that stretches and challenges the concept of photography. From superimposed flowers to dark and playful self-portraits, the artist treads on the thin line between photography and graphic design. About an hour into the opening, guests crowded around the artist as she gave a musical performance. Her performance, much like her art, was experimental. Brodbeck mesmerized the audience with her electronic sounds, reverberating vocals and projected visuals.

After her performance, the lights were turned back on and the mingling continued. The team then had the opportunity to talk with the artist as well as with Michel Auer, along with his wife, Michèle, founder of the Auer Photo Foundation. We were also happy to see Karin Nolte from Classiques Alternances, who works closely with Horyou in the artistic and cultural sectors. The M+M Auer duo was very happy to see us again, and we look forward to seeing them again at other events soon.
